Well done! Excellent Game!!

First off, I totally enjoyed the game, nice style, nice original gameplay. Surprising attention to detail as well, like changing the perspective of where the camera sits in the tube, etc. Anyway, two suggestions:

1.) Would it be possible to add shadows or some hints as to where the enemies are in 3d space? it seemed finding where they were took some trial and error
2.) Music didn't make the game entirely engrossing, but it worked.

Thanks for the comments, and glad you enjoyed the game. If I get round to making a Mk II, I'll certainly look into implementing those suggestions.

I have not played a game this this, awesome!

Did you come up with this concept? It's a great concept executed very well!

Minor bug: When you lose, it still reports that 'Player 1 wins'.

Nice original concept!

Its such a relief to see a new concept on newgrounds! The game seems to be well programmed, and the concept could prove to be fun, i spent about 10 minutes playing this. Perhaps some trial and error with increasing the difficulty, perhaps randomizing the order that the three cranes drop in... Something to add difficulty to the game. Adding a bit of speed wouldn't hurt either.

How about some appropriate background music?

Anyway, nice flash with some room to grow.

Very messy

The game has a few problems. First off, nice first submission. The sound effects don't really feel responsive to shooting the gun. Items flying by just disappear. I can suspend disbelief that by shooting them you are saving you car (but if it can pick up cows and trees, why not a car?), but even then, a little bit of animation for the death of a cow would have been nice.

The biggest problem, however, was that the gun was huge, and oriented at the left, the same side the objects flew from. It would make a lot more sense to have the gun coming from the bottom of the screen a bit more (I don't think the shooter is strafing, which is the impression i get). When objects would appear, they would be very obscured by the gun itself. A quick fix would be lowering the alpha of the gun movie clip.

thx for the advice and for taking your time to review this seriously, i'll use what you've said and take it in to account when making my next flash.

Ping of Death?! Hahaha

That is certainly not the 'ping of death'. In fact, that method won't even work on small sites. Hell, it won't even work on the workstation sitting next to you. It'll send (1) 32 byte packet every second. That batch file will run sequentially.

Nice, solid, well-produced game

I really enjoyed this game, great work! This was an extremely solid game submission.

My only real suggestion is screen-scrolling. I know the code is a little tricky, but side-scrollers are less frustrating when your character is NOT in the center of the screen, but about 75% back depending on the way your moving. So if you're moving right, the screen should position so you're 1/4 of the way from the left side.

Anyway, i'm just bickering, good work!

Strange Little, Simple Game

Interesting little game, my two suggestions are:

Learn a bit of trig so that diagonal movement isn't faster than standard movement.

Create some element of the game that pulls the player through the game, perhaps make the switch between levels seamless, i think users will figure out there are two fish there, and the game would hold together a bit better.

Perhaps a little more animation could polish the game up a bit.

Nice submission

Hi. I added the "text between levels" as a few of my mates who tested it couldn't understand why the crab was hurting them. They suggested to put in the level synopsis. Thanks for the suggestions and review :D

Here's why your LoadVars doesn't work:

You need to have your server tell Flash its alright to loadVars off of it (which is not the default if you are going cross domain)...

Thank you so much, now it works fine :D
My game is now at 100%

Why Flash?

Alright, i'm not trying to be exceptionally critical, and this is not the only flash that i've seen that has had these problems, but why use flash for this information? I've seen many many entries on newgrounds that would be far better suited as just a basic web site. Instead, putting this information (which seems detailed to me, congrats on that) in flash, you've
- given the viewer an arbitary, inconsistent interface
- a huge download compared to a basic web site
- Information that cannot be easily indexed by searches, or bookmarked

and what benefits have flash given you? I guess you got some background music.

I guess it just seems to me that you decided you wanted to use flash, then the information you wanted to present. You usually get the best results if you think of how you want to present your information, then choose the product which best suits your needs.

This could be a lot better with time

Good idea, but the music was AWFUL! Its like there is a an annoying ticket machine going off right behind you over... and over... and over... And there were no sound effects, this one should be EASY to find sound effects for. I also felt like the control could use some work. Keep up the work, though, it has potential.
